Ive snorkeled once before. Im a slow swimmer. pretty poor. I couldnt even float so i got a life jacket.
I need to consider a few things 1. Size of flipper- I heard small is better for a beginner. Also how far over the back of the flipper should the heal protrude? I hope this second part makes sense. 2. Size of mask- Not sure whether big small, fog proof, etc. Also can you get tinted to block your eyes. 3. gloves Do i need water proof gloves or some garden gloves so i dont cut my hand. 4. hand flippers like the swimmers use. i suppose this is a no, as it might wake the fish and i need a hand free to hold my hand spear. 5. what are the best sort of places to buy these? I can get a mask from Crazy clarks for $8. but I could get mask, snorkel and flippers for like $22 from kmart so i suppose it would be better from kmart. 6. I suppose it might be optimistic thinking i will spear fish, but perhaps if im lucky Ill find some crustaceans to spear. Many thanks. Im a bit paniced because I am leaving in a week. |
